Engagement Photography (…well, the initial engagement photography session at least) =)

Engagement photography is fun, being the engagement photographers for the actual engagement, was amazing. We were able to bring in the new year, with some of the best news of all, the engagement of my best friend to his girlfriend of many years. Fortunately for me, he decided New Years Eve that he wanted to ask for her hand in marriage on my sidewalk (which I thought was pretty exciting). His idea was that he wanted to throw her off-guard, and I certainly would say he did just that! The proposal went as follows;
Since she may expect something if they suddenly upped for a romantic dinner, Erik wanted to completely surprise her, hence the sidewalk of my house. On the way home new years day, Erik would allow Juliet to get ahead of him and then ask her to turn around, at which point he will be on one knee and romantically ask for her hand in marriage.
What actually happened:
January 1st turned out to be a rather chilly day, and about 2:30 when they decided to head home, Juliet decided she should RUN! to the car, not walk, RUN! Erik then shouted, “Juliet! Wait! Stop! No, seriously, turn around!” he then dropped to one knee and said, “You drive me crazy, and I want you to be my wife”. He was barely able to finish the first half of his sentence before she turned around, recognized what was happening and began jumping up and down, shouting, YES! YES!! YES!!! She was so happy to be engaged (especially since it was her only ‘new year’s resolution’.
What happens now?
Now, it’s onto Pinterest, Juliet and Erik get to make plans and arrangements for their wedding, and I’m busy planning an engagement session. Oh, the life of a photographer. I absolutely LOVE being a part of so many precious memories.
